TPS65983: TPS65983 Authentication test problem

Hi all：

What is the tps65983 value of the current limiter？

The customer did a short circuit test at 5 V 3 A，9v 3A and there was no problem。

A problem arose when the customer did a short circuit test at 15 V3 A，After power off ，TPS65983 can not work。

What causes it，and How to improve this problem

Hi Selina,

TPS65983B is capable protecting itself from short circuits, over current, over voltage and low voltage events.

Can you share your schematic and configuration file? This will help me to evaluate the cause and provide you suggestion to fix this.

Hi Selina,

We tried this on our EVM, we made a 15V contract and shorted VBUS to GND and this survived after 10 trials. Below are the VBUS and current waveforms.

I am also attaching the bin file we tried with, can you try with the same bin? Please change the extension of .txt file to bin file and use it to program your device.

I'm the customer of Selina, this question is from my TBT-Dcok. I tried the FW, it seems OK to solve this issue. Please tell me how could I get the FW? which config tool? how to configure for this product?

Hi Richard,

The bin file is already attached in my previous post. Download "83B 15V Source.txt" and replace .txt to .bin and then you can use it.

You can use the latest Configuration Tool available from the secure software site to create the bin file on your own.

Please click "This resolved my issue" if this solves your problem.

Hi Selina,

It's not possible as Intel uses fixed settings which are not allowed to change and therefore these settings are not visible in the GUI.
