Power dissipation in Optocoupler

What does Power dissipation (of Phototransistor) in Absolute maximum rating of opto coupler means ?

Does it mean,it can sustain X mW of power before getting damage or it means that it will dissipate X mW in any operation?

Hi Kunal,

The absolute maximum power dissipation specified in datasheet is the maximum power consumed by IC, for any value of input/output in recommended operating range.

Can you please share few more details about your application and the opto coupler device used?.

We do not have any 'active' opto coupler device in our portfolio.
