• TI thinks resolved

ISO1541: bq76930 + ISO1541

Part Number: ISO1541

Dear TI Experts,

I want to use Bq76930 refer to  Industrial Battery Management Module for 20S Applications Design Guide~

I have seen it has used ISO1541 ,and I found ISO1541 power consumption is high~

I want to know the total power consumption of the design~And if has other low power choise to replace ISO1541~

Thank you very much~

  • Hi Fawn,

    Thanks for the question!

Our team is going to look into finding the power consumption for that TI design for you and we should be able to get back to you by Monday or Tuesday.
Could you give us some details about your application so we can recommend the best part? Obviously power consumption is a key concern. What level of isolation do you require? What is the application?

    Best regards,

    Hi Fawn,

Sorry for the delayed response. If your application specifically needs bidirectional I2C, it looks like the ISO154X is our best solution. Section 6.10 Supply Current Characteristics (page 10 of the datasheet) can give you some information on the power consumption of the ISO154X for different setups.

If you share some details about your application, I may be able to find a better IC with lower power consumption. What is your target power consumption for the isolator?

    Best regards,

    Hello Dan,

Thank you for your kindly reply~

I want to use two Bq76930,and refer to the reference design, their is a isolation ISO1541 between it~

So I am here to ask you if their any low power Isolation can take place of the ISO1541~

  • In reply to Fawn:

    Hi Fawn,

As of right now the ISO154X is our best isolated I2C device. Unfortunately, I do not have any lower power isolators I would recommend using with the Bq76930

    Thank you for your question,
