HI
Is it possible to use High-speed CAN with F28069 Experimental kit?
If so what would be the hardware requirements?
If not what other TI processor can be utilised?
Thanks in advance
Sneha

F28069 has an eCAN peripheral. You can find the further details about this peripheral in the device's datasheet and TRM: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/spruh18e/spruh18e.pdf

Hi gautam
Thanks for the reply.Thats known to me that control card has eCAN ineterface on header pi.My concern is whether high speed CAN with bau`d rates upto 1Mb/sec be used with it and what would be the hardware requirements .Transciever would be required ,120 ohm resistance to terminate ends, any other modem or device to establish two way communication?
Thanks and regards

Yes, transceiver is very much required! Refer this hardware: (just as an example)

Hi gautam
Which CAN transciever would be apt for F28069 experimental kit? SN65HVD255,SN65HVD230...I have to establish communication between sources in a DC microgrid. The DC bus is to operate around 48 V.There are to be sources like PV,Fuel cell,Ultaracapcitor.
Thanks n Regards

Both the parts have their specific feature set. You can start with SN65HVD255 and if you feel its an overkill for your project - downgrade to SN65HVD230.

Gautam
Thanks
As per the following document
3005.17.CAN 3.3 or 5V tranciever.pdf
It seems using CAN 3.3V SN65HVD255 would be a better choice.

Start experimenting then :)
Hi
Assuming that I want to recieve Signals from four sources using CAN(each source having its own control card) on a f28069 experimental kit, which has only one CANTX/CANrx pin.
can this pin be programed to work with multisources in a loop if not simultaneously or it can support only one source
thanks
Sneha

I would like you to go through eCAN peripheral in Technical Reference Manual for F28069. It has ample information on this communication protocol.
Also, you can refer this ppt which is meant for F2812 controller (a very old C2000 mcu); but you can atleast extract some useful info.

Charles, she has already ordered F28069 Experimenter's Kit. I don't know whether she needs a motor kit or not but by doing so she has saved $200 :)

Hi Charles
Thanks for your suggestion. But for my project F28069 is the most suitable and its order is in the process.
thanks
Sneha
This is what we used. it came with C2000 Piccolo TMS320F28069M controlCARD with Isolated XDS100v2 JTAG Emulation.
