Dear Sir

I have purchased C2000 Piccolo Launchpad evaluation kit " launchxl-F28027"

I have written a program code by editing the existing examples of CPU timer from control suite.

I am using Code composer V4

For target selection following steps I am following ( is this write???)

1. in connection drop box selection is " texas Instrument XDS100V2 USB Emulator"

2. Board drop box the selection is " Control stick Piccolo F28027"

I am getting following errors

1.errors encountered during linking; "Example_2802xCpuTimer.out" not built

2.placement fails for object ".text", size 0xc67 (page 0). Available ranges: PRAML0 size: 0x900 unused: 0x900 max hole: 0x900

please guide

Ashutosh,

I suspect you must have modified the example and added some code. The error message is telling you that your code will not fit in the allocated RAM. You need to adjust your linker command file to provide more memory for the .text section.

I have declared aaray of 40 size and 20 number of float variables before ram.
How to provide more memory to .text section ???

Also Whether am i right for target selection steps

On your target selection, you chose the F2806x Control Stick. This board has an XDS100v2 emulator on it, so it will work with your LaunchPad. Personally, I setup my emulator connection manually. I'd choose XDS100v2 emulator, and then select the F28069 as the target on the setup screen.

On your error message, try linking your .text section to flash. Then you can examine the .map file the codegen tools spits out and see how large all the different sections are. Then you can adjust your .cmd file accordingly. Key thing is you need the code to build successfully so you can get the .map file.
