Good day everyone,

From the schematic of the PLC TMDSPLCKIT-V3 (attached to this post) in page 3, there is a section circuit which is connected to the lines: Line-Azc and Line-N. Basically they are the lines of the AC network.  This circuit contains an optocoupler (FOD817BSD) and a integrated circuit  (SN74LVC1G57)  referred as U8.


Does anyone know what exactly does this circuit here? My intention is to connect the modem to a high DC voltage, and I am not sure the implications of doing this for this circuit.
