understanding of the RISE/FALL capture events with HRCAP module

Hi,

I am learning the HRCAP module these days and have some trouble in understanding of the RISE/FALL capture events with HRCAP module.

I am using the F28069.

In the reference guide CH5.3.2.3, it says:

5.3.2.3.1 RISE Capture Events

Therefore RISE events are generally used to capture data for period signals where duty cycle may vary significantly.

5.3.2.3.2 FALL Capture Events

Therefore FALL events are generally used to capture short pulse widths spaced far enough apart to read the registers safetly.

OK, I really don't know the differences between the RISE/FALL events and the different uses.

Can you explain it to me?

Thanks,

-Di
