Pin Config when McBSP is an SPI slave [Device:F28377D]

Hi,

Can I use a R pin(FSR/CLKR) instead of X pin(FSX/CLKX) when McBSP is an SPI slave mode?

TRM is described as "the CLKX and FSX pins must be configured as inputs".

But I think that possible as long as read the following(spruhm8d : 2030page).

I have confirmed on the bench that this does NOT work. I am working with a few colleagues to determine the reason why this is the case as the wording does in fact make it sound like this is possible.

I hope to have an answer here in the next few days. I appreciate your patience.

Mino,

I got confirmation from my colleagues.
The MCLKR and the MFSR pins are not used in the SPI mode. The CLKX is internally driving CLKR in such a way that the path from MCLKR (the actual pin) is not used. The same is true regarding MFSX/MFSR hookup.

I will clear up the paragraph in the User Guides to reflect this.
