TMS320F28377D: Differences for -T and -S temperature ratings

Guru* 84110 points
Part Number: TMS320F28377D

In the datasheet for the TMS320F28377D, the temp rating for the -T device is for a high temp of 105C Tj and the temp rating for the -S device is for a high temp of 125C Tj. But the -S device includes a caveat in Note 2 that "Operation above Tj = 105°C for extended duration will reduce the lifetime of the device." and directs the reader to an Application Note to help calculate the useful lifetime.

Is the right way to interpret the difference between the two temperature ratings that they will both meet the timing specifications of the datasheet, but that operating either device above Tj = 105°C will result in a similar reduction in the lifetime of the device?

Sorry if this seems simplistic, but it was not clear to me unless that is the timing specifications only as the difference.
