MSP430: Error initializing emulator: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port

All,

I'm going through the

MSP-EXP430F5529 Experimenter Board User Guide

I plugged in the programmer and got a green LED. Then I made it this far:

"You may be prompted to update the firmware on the MSP-FET430UIF programmer. Do not be concerned;

click the button that says Update, and the program download should continue as expected."

 

At this point it hung. After about an hour I rebooted, now I'm not gettting any LEDs.

 

I'm getting this error:

 

MSP430: Error initializing emulator: Could not find MSP-FET430UIF on specified COM port

I'm using Code Compiler v5.4 with a MSP-FET430UIF.

My Device Manager shows:

MSP-FET430UIF - VCP (COM6)

 

Any suggestions?
