AFE4300 Impedance Measurement protection

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE4300, TPD1E10B06

In the Functional Block Diagram of the AFE4300 Datasheet, it shows two blocks called "Patient & ESD Protection" are their any reference documents that give examples on what circuitry should be used here?

In our application we want to inject a 100kHz sinewave signal into the transplated muscle flap of a patient just after surgery and use bioimepdance measurements to determine the viability/recovery of it over several days.

The AFE4300 blocks any DC current going into the patient (which is good) and we can control the injected current to comply with standards, so I was just wondering what the additional front end protection is for?
