how to drive a 3-pin buzzer (with feedback) with DRV2700? or is there a better fitting device for this?

Hi Hanno,

We have done some experiments using the LM48560 to drive 3-pin piezo buzzers. Are you referring to piezo buzzers? This depend on the voltage required for the piezo. If you need >30Vpp for the piezo buzzer, then the DRV2700 device is the right choice. Can you send us more details about the buzzer?

which kind of piezo (in combination with the appropriate TI driver) brings the best solution for a smoke detector, cost and efficiency wise?

I have given the link to our reference design. There are a multitude of piezo elements and many other factors to consider when making a smoke detector. I am happy to help you with any specific questions about our piezo drivers, but there is no simple answer to your above question.
