I need an 8 channel device where the VGA gain is totally independent from each channel. Unless I am missing something, the coarse and fine gain appears to apply to all 8 channels. A digital gain change of 0 to 6dB can be applied to each channel. Am I correct?

Yes, for the AFE5801 the VGA gain is global. For all of our devices the VGA(TGC) gain is global. However, some of our more advanced devices like the AFE5808A and AFE5809 have individual channel LNA Gain controls of 12,18, and 24 dB with a global VCAT control and global PGA control

Thanks for the reply, Chuck. I am in the ultrasonic rail flaw detection business, where each channel needs independent variable gain with an 80 DB dynamic range.
