14 bits per pixel color image

Hi

I need a clarification.I am familiar with 24 bits per pixel image format(RGB), 16 bpp(4:2:2 sampling) and 12 bpp(4:2:0 sampling). But when I went through camlink interface its specified that it supports 14 bits per pixel image format also. Can anyone explain me how 14 bpp is possible. What are those 14 bits representing???
