Minimum LCD size that TSC2007 can be supported

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSC2007

Hi...

My customer is going to design TSC2007 on 1.46" 128x128 pixel LCD of Band product.

Can TSC2007 be supported LCD size of 1.46" 128x128 pixel?

Also I want to know the minimum LCD size that TSC2007 can be supported.

I could not find that information in the related documents and datasheet of TSC2007.

Please let me know that.

Thanks.

  • Yes. The TSC2007's internal ADC supports both 8-bit and 12-bit resolution, so its output coordinates can be 256 * 256 or  4096 * 4096. If pointing and clicking are required only, I think the 8-bit resolution would be sufficient for your customer's application.  In addition, a calibration tool / library such as tslib is commonly used to deal with the mapping from the touch screen coordinates to the LCD coordinates. Therefore, 128 * 128 can be easily supported by the TSC2007.

  • Hi Andy

    Thanks for your information.

But I think that LCD size of 1.46" is very small, so the touch recoginition by finger is not worked very well.

How do you think about this?

    Please reply your comments.

    Thanks.

  • Very different from capacitive touch, resistive touch relies on the physical contact of two ITO layers. What's the size of the icon or button on the LCD will be? If the icon or button is not very small, I don't think it will be challenging for TSC2007.

  • Hi Andy

    Thanks for your comments.
The size of icon or button on LCD has not decided yet.
I did understand what you say.
When I need to help about those application, I'll ask you about that.
    Thanks.
