Hi team,

i want to check which condition, the TPS23753 cannot replace TPS23753A.

I have seen the ESD from the first page. But don't know how to understand it.

Could you please help describe it more detail？ And how to convince the customer to use the tps23753 to replace TPS23753A?

    Hi Frank,

    The TPS23753A is equivalent in functionality and parametrics to the TPS23753. However, the TPS23753A has enhanced ESD immunity and is also more cost optimized compared to the TPS23753. For this reason, the TPS23753A is generally used to replace the TPS23753.

    Hi Brett,

    My customer use the A version before, how to convince them to change to non A version. i still cannot quite understand the meaning of esd immunity. Could you please help explain more? Thanks.

    Frank, We recommend the 'A' version in all cases as the TPS23753A has improved soft failure immunity.  Otherwise, there are no functional or parametric differences between the two options.  The TPS23753A was released in order to avoid an issue where the TPS23753 (non-A) could glitch off (soft failure) during a system-level ESD event.

    The additional ESD immunity is circuitry internal to the IC...nothing pins out. We keep the non-A version active for customers who designed that solution in first, are happy with it's performance, and have no need to qualify the 'A.'

    Otherwise, we always recommend the 'A' version to new customers.
