TPS61026: About shutdown sequence

Part Number: TPS61026

Hi,

Could you tell me about TPS61026 shutdown sequence.
In the ON / OFF test of the customer, Vout and VBAT  become 0V before EN, LBI pins.
EN and LBI pins are kept at about 1V for 2 sec.
Is there a risk of failure if this off sequence?

Best Regards,
Yusuke

  • Hi Tsukui:

    Thanks for reaching out.

As the converter won't operate with zero VBAT and Vout, may I know what is the failure that customer afraid at such condition?

  • Hi Minqiu,

    Thank you for your response.

When the power of the IC itself lowered,
Customer is concerned about the situation where voltage remains on other pins.

For example, if there is no power supply inside the IC,
There will be no protection diode pull-up source.
In such a case, the other pins may sink current.

When the device itself powers down,
Does it break even if voltage is applied to EN and LBI pin?

    Best Regards,
    Yusuke

  • Hi Yusuke:

There will be leakage current if EN or LBI is high, no matter with or without Vin, Vout. The value won't be too large, and we have some data in the datasheet. It doesn't cover all situations, but you could take it as a reference.

And the converter won't damage if it's still within the maximum rating.
