Hi, I am looking to add additional ESD protection with an OTG power solution. I have been utilizing the TPD4S014 in earlier revisions, but now that I have OTG in the design things are quite different. How do I add ESD protection and ideally some over voltage protection as well? The TPD4S014 paired with a BQ24296 is not going to take reverse current, right? Nor does a TPD4S214 assume that VBUS is already boosted, so most of its capability is wasted when paired with TI OTG chargers. What are the recommended ESD/over voltage protections for OTG chargers?

Hi Chris,

TPD1S514 supports OTG mode and battery charging and includes 30 V DC over-voltage protection, 3.5 A continuous I_BUS, IEC61000-4-2 +/-15 kV ESD, 100V IEC6100-4-5 surge.

Hi Guy,

I read the datasheet of TPD1s514 on page 4, Is the "Iout" refer to the ouput current from "VBUS_SYS" which is 3.5 A ?
