Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54260, BQ25606

Hello Team,
Could you help us please to find battery charger with power-path.

System requirements:
- Snandalone
- Power-Path
- Li-Ion 1 cell, any capacity, 1 A charge current

Vin(from DC/DC TPS54260) is fixed and can be 4 - 5 V.
Vout(sys) should be 3.8 - 4.2 V.
Iout 2 A+
This is the consumption of GSM/GPS module.

  • Your voltage ranges shown above may complicate things. If you VIN is always higher than Vout, say your VIN can be set at 5V, then you just need a buck converter. If you do have situation where VIN=4V and Vout needs to be 4.2V, we will suggest a sepic or buck-boost, which is slightly more complex and costs more than a buck. Which is your actually use case?
  • Hi Ilya,

Youhao is correct into that the charger needs its input voltage higher than 4.2V in order to fully charge the battery. Do you also need OTG function? bq25606 in QFN package might work for you if VBUS is at least ~4.5V or higher.
