BQ33100 - System load connection (per sec. 7 of sluu466)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ33100

What is the system load connection on the BQ33100 eval board used for?  Our bank of cells connect directly to an external power source/sink and we are investigating using the BQ33100 for cell balancing and state of health management.  I have been told that the charge/discharge power does not need to go through the evaluation board or bq33100 chip.  It was described that the "system power" (TB1) connections were for powering the chip, so I plan to tie the TB1 connections to the positive and negative terminals of my cell bank.  If I do this for providing power to the bq33100, do I need to make any connections to the TB4 "system load" pins?  And in case I am misinterpreting the system load purpose, please tell me if this load is intended for something else (like a balancing resistor).
