bq34z100-G1 Additional Chemistry-Related Configurations

In SLUSBZ5A there is Table 27 Additional Chemistry-Related Configurations:

Default Load Select 1 3 3
Cell Term V Delta 200 100 100
Min % Passed Chg for 1st Qmax 90 50 50

From the dataflash of the eval board i read the following:

Load Select: 1

Cell Term V Delta: 200

Min % Passed Chg for 1st Qmax is not there.  If Min PassedChr NiMH-LA 1st Qmax is meant it is: 50

I have set the Chemistry ID to 0800 (Lead Acid battery)

Load Select should be set to an appropriate value according to the Step by Step guide in the datasheet => OK.

But i have not found any information regarding the other two values. Are they set with the Chemistry ID or should/must i set them manually?

  • So i have set Load Select to 3 and Cell Term V Delta to 100 (for our lead acid batteries).

    But i have still no idea what (which data flash name) is meant with Min % Passed Chg for 1st Qmax.

    I have found document slua664 (Configuring the bq34100 Data Flash). It is for the bq34z100, not the bq34z100-G1.

    Is there such a document for the bq34z100-G1? That would be really useful.

  • I will update the Configuring the Data Flash document in the next couple of months. A new parameter was added on the -G1 so that you do not have to change the Min % Passed Chg for 1st Qmax parameter. It is the Min PassedChg NiMH-LA 1st Qmax parameter and it is set to 50% by default.
