bq27421-G1 Data Memory setting

On TRM(SLUUAC5C) P.14, there is "Data Memory Parameter Update Example".
Can we change the default value of data memory by this procedure?

At our customer's test, data memory value returned to device default value after POR, although they updated data memory value.
Is it possible to change the ROM data (Design capacity, Design energy, Terminate Voltage etc...)?

    The default values are stored in read only memory. It is not possible to change the default values in read only memory.

    Other gauges have flash memory that you can program with data that will not be overwritten during a power on reset. (e.g. bq27542)

    Do we must program golden image file after battery is connected?
    Isn't it right to program to device at board production flow?

    Sorry for the delay - I was out of the office.

    Yes, you will have to program the bq27421 after the battery is connected to the gauge. It is not possible to program the device during board production if the battery is not connected (or will be disconnected at any time). Every time the bq27421 is power cycled or reset, it will have to be reprogrammed.
