BQ40z60EVM cell and FET voltage -273deg

hi,

i have bq40z60EVM evaluation board. I want to charge and discharge to battery cell 2S manually. I did all steps correct by i see that the temperature of the cell is -273 deg. I think that this doesn't abbey the evaluation board to charge and discharge the battery cells. Can you please help me to solve this issue.

Best regards,

You have all of the temperature sensors disabled and none are assigned to measure the cell temperature. Try setting

    Temperature Enable = 01
    Temperature Mode = 00

This will select the internal temp sensor to measure the cell temperature. You can enable the external thermistors after you get this to work.

  • Dear Thomas,
Thank you for the fast answer. I set the Temperature Enable to 01 and Temperature Mode to 00 but still the fet temp is -273deg. But the charging process now start and thats ok for me.
I have just one more question. I cant charge the batteries higher the 4000V but i need to charge it to 4200V. Also i cant start automatic charge discharge cycle is it possible?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Valeria,

Are you using bq40z60EVM? What resistor divider ratio you're using from VSYS to Vfb? The max charger output voltage is 1.22V/(Vfb divider ratio from VSYS). The min charger output voltage is 0.61V/(Vfb divider ratio from VSYS).
