UCD9244 and 2 UCD7242 power suply chips.

I am just curious on the schematics you show PGND and GND connected together. Have you seen an noise issues with the gronds?

  • Typically, an IC will have multiple grounds to isolate noise within the component but for the device to fucntion correctly the Gnd (analog/digital) needs to be referenced to the PGND relatively close to the device otherwise a differential in voltage can be impressed between the two grounds which can cause problems within the device.

If you wanted you could create a local GND around the device for its non-power signals that are referenced to ground then have this tied to the PGND at a single point with good coupling to the ground plane.  Make sure to decouple each bias voltage back to its related ground if using this method.
