ucd9248 power rails showing output off

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9248

Hello all,

I am working with Kintex7 KC705 board which has 3 ucd9248 controller ICs. currently only one rail (adress 52 rail one ) is working and all others are showing power good and output off (after using Fusion GUI power design software) after looking at status registers all things are 'OK' but still voltage rails are not providing output(as some of them have output off). I tried with default factory setting XML script but in vain. it cant make those power rails output on.

can u please guide me to trubleshoot the problem??

is it because of some damaged component on board which is making to force output off for UCD9248?

or this can be configured manually with the help of fusion gui software..

kindly provide with way to fix the problem

thanking you.

  • Sounds like there may be a problem with the second rail in the power on sequence given that there is only one rail operating and no faults reported.

Can you confirm that there are no faults by opening the System Dashboard which will display all three controller's rails in one window along with any faults or operating conditions, see highlighted button for System Dashboard below.

I will dig up the configuration files from Xilinx and determine the power sequence.

  • thnx brad for your reply
I solved the problem, it was with with on power train module generating fault(may be due to short ), so replaced the module and with factory xml
its running and working fine now.
but now the problem i am having is FUSION GUI software is not able to find any devices ..any possible reasons ??
    thanking you
  • If the rails are all functioning OK and you still cannot connect by using the Fusion GUI then it may be the scanning method (there are several options depending on the type of controller that is being used).  The GUI SW should be set to scan for DEVICE_ID to capture the UCD9248 controllers (or a setting that scans multiple device types including the DEVICE_ID).

I assume you are getting the following window.

After clicking Change Device Scanning Options, select any one of the following highlighted options:

Hope this works for you, let me know if not.
