In an earlier post 'SM74611 as blocking diode' it was stated there was more information to come. The data sheet has scant information in some areas. In particular I am wanting to know the surge current rating of the device, short term over-current characteristics.
I wonder Is the high current limitation set by the bonding wires perhaps? Certainly not by the normal max die temperature with the low thermal resistance!
I like this device but for the application I have in mind would see a 25 Amp forward current maximum. I tried an experiment with 2 devices in parallel, hoping they would current share reasonably well. This did not work, and gave much higher average forward voltage (was easy to try but not really surprised by results).
Any help on this appreciated.
