TPS65023: LOW_BAT comparator freely usable?

Hi there,

am I reading the '65023 datasheet right that the LOW_BAT comparator is quasi a stand alone device, powered by  the Vmax switch and simply comparing the LOWBAT_SNS pin to an internal 1V reference (powered by what?), resulting in the LOWBATn signal.

IOW: am I free to use this comparator to survey what ever (switcher-)output voltage of the chip?
Or is there some connection to the control logic in the '65023  that could provoke unplanned side effects when the comparator triggers?
