Hello!

I am Park of Tabos in the south Korea.

I need Solar Li-ion Battery Charging circuit.

Input is DC 28~48V.

Output CV is 25.4V. +/- 0.03V

CC is 10~15A. +/- 10%

Li-ion Charger is directly connected 4S Li-ion Battery.

I made LM5119 of TI design tool.

But, 3A shutdown.

I want know why it shutdown.

Does LM5119 or LM5116have a function which convert positive voltage into negative voltage ?

That is not a function. By changing the input and output connection, most of buck regulator can be reconfigured to buck-booct regulator.

After reading the LM5119 data sheet, it did not refer buck-booster but buck controller. If so, it could not support the negative voltage. Even I reading http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snva022d/snva022d.pdf, it is not clear to me if it could produce negative voltage as well.

LM5119 can be configured for the negative output buck-boost. The buck-boost configuration of LM5119 is the same as the configuration in snva022d.pdf

If LM51119 input voltage is +48V, output voltage is +5V with current consumption 5A. How large does heat sink need to cover this voltage drop?

Would you recommend the some calculation example?

Total power is 25W. Assuming about 92% efficiency, the loss is 2W. In general, you don't need a heat-sink to cover this 2W.

Hi,I am a student in China. I have chosen LM5119 as my control chip in an interleaved buck circuit. The driving waveform (square wave) can maintain about only 10 seconds or even longer. Then the waveform disappears ,but the level of VCC is still 7.6V. This happened in the case of no-load and open-loop.

Please tell me why. Thanks a lot!
