UC2525A Synch PIN?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC2525A

Hi all,

I have a question about UC2525A, what is the function of the synch PIN?

I am designing a topology in which 2 PWM signals , 180 phase shifted  are required, Can this IC provide such functionality ?

Regards

  • Hello Raed
The SYNC pin allows you to synchronise the UC2525A oscillator to an external signal source. The external source could be a micro controller output or another UC2525A device. In general synchronising power supply stages in this manner will lead to more stable operation and to an electrically quieter system. If you don't need it then leave it disconnected - although I would suggest you make provision on your layout to connect it to GROUND - a Not Fitted zero Ohm Link for example.
The OUTA and OUTB signals are indeed 180deg phase shifted.
    Regards
