UCC28911 Application issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28911, PMP30026, TIDA-00618, PMP11774, PMP

Hi Tiers:

Now we found a chance of AC-DC which is PSR mode in our customer which produced the PLC modem, the current solution they used is PI’s Lnk623 / Lnk625DG

and their PLC are divided by 3 specification,  the standby power consumption  is 0.5W and targeted is 0.3W.

Single Output

12V@0.5A

Single Output

3.3V@1.5A

Dual Output (PLC + Wifi)

12V@0.1A    and  3.3V @1.3A

And customer want to evaluate TI's solution ,I think the proper device should be UCC28911 to them, could you please recommend a proper TI-design to their spec right now , and I can apply for one or two pcs for their evaluation as soon.

BTW, the evm of UCC28911 is 5V output so I can't use it.

  • Hi  Tiers:

                Any update?

  • The EVM is the only available orderable hardware for this device but we do have a Webench model that can be used for a design that even includes transformer design option.  I did a test run with the requirements you listed (but unfortunately Webench was not able to process the two-output design)

    webench_design_UCC28911_3V3_1R5A.pdf

Also, although not built and orderable hardware like an EVM, the PMP30026 is a 12V/1A design that has available design files for download. (http://www.ti.com/tool/PMP30026) that could be modified for your specific requirements.

For an example of a two-output application with the UCC28911, the PMP11774 is a reference design (so files are available but no hardware) and the TIDA-00618 is another dual-output reference design that has available Gerber files.

Even though TI does not have an available EVM to meet your specific requirements, we do offer design tools like Webench and TIDA and PMP files that can be used as a starting point.  Also note that even though the EVM does not meet your exact requiements, it can be a useful tool to evaluate waveforms and use as guideline (many users start with an EVM and replace components to meet thier application needs as a way to benchtest a design)

  • Hi Lisa:

    Thank you for your comments.

Can I apply for the PMP30026 and PMP11774 ? And I will do some medication to meet customer's requirement for the prompt promotion.
