LM5015: Can LM5015 undertake 1.9A/60ns surge current?

Hi team,

Customer used LM5015 for ISO DC (24V to 5V). They feedback when the board power up and it will appear 1.9A/60ns surge current. They want to know if LM5015 can undertake 1.9A/60ns surge curren and if has some Potential issues?

Hello Eggsy,

Where is the customer measuring the 1.9A? If this is at PVin, then this should not be an issue.

If this is at the VIN, so why did you said this should not be an issue?

Hello Eggsy,

I say it should not be an issues because, PVIN is the drain of the high side FET. The Peak current limit level is set to a max of 1.4A, the duration of time is relatively much longer in time, than 60ns being trapezoidal in shape.
