I have a design with Vin=2.2V, Vout =1.8V. Can enable pin go to 5V without damaging or any adverse effects? I know that the data sheet specifies voltage range of 1.7 to Vin for enable.
Thanks.
Alek

Hello Alek,
The data sheet is definitely ambiguous. The correct answer is that the maximum V_EN voltage is 6.0V as stated in the table for Absolute Maximum Ratings. There are no ESD structures (or other test circuitry) between the V_IN pin and the V_EN pin that would limit the enable voltage to the input voltage as seems to be suggested in the Electrical Characteristics table. This is not always the case and so this was a good question.
