TPS755: 3d model from ultra librarian doesn't match physical dimensions

Part Number: TPS755

I've spun a PCB using the TPS75533KTTR device which is modeled on my PCB using the 3d model from ultra librarian. This 3d model does NOT match the physical size and dimensions of the TPS75533KTTR part that I received. It poorly matches the footprint (the 3d model is substantially smaller) and is much taller physically than the footprint.

Robbie,

Just to confirm what you are using - are you using the STP model on the web or are using the 3D layout mode view after exporting from Ultra Librarian? Our preference is to use the STP model for 3D.

Oh, I was actually using this link:
webench.ti.com/.../cad.cgi

then downloading that file for the KTT and opening it in Ultra librarian. I needed the footprint for Altium. That is how why I did it this way. I then use Ultra librarian and this KTT file to generate a library with the footprint and 3d model in it. I add that to my project library and place the part.

Using the above link, I download the .bxl file for ultra librarian.

Hi Robbie,

Yes you should continue to use BXL file and Ultra Librarian to generate the Symbol and Footprint in Altium, but use the STP file for 3D. Don't use the BXL generated 3D model (it is not validated).

Ok I did not know this. It would be nice to alert the user to this fact on the web page in which we download the .bxl file. I would have never expected this behavior.
