LP5907: LP5907UVE-4.5/NOPB Body marking

Genius 3475 points
Part Number: LP5907

HI

I recently help a customer sampled LP5907UVE-4.5/NOPB.

This is a YKE, DSBGA package. According to the datasheet, the body marking should be Z.

Below is the Microscope capture of the IC, it shows a "L", but there is no "L" in the data sheet

Pls advice if we have gotten the correct part

  • Hi INg,

It looks like it is showing a date code and the top marking not just the topside marking as shown in the datasheet. The easiest way to tell would be to check the reel it was shipped in. This should provide the output voltage. The other thing you can try is powering some up and see what the output voltage is.

    Best Regards,

  • Hi Mark,

Since the package is so tiny, there is no space to mark out the information to identify the device.

Just to seek clarification, so the L should actually be the Ball A1 indication, and the symbol is the datecode?

  • Hi Mark,

Could you confirm that the body marking for LP5907UVE-4.5/NOPB is "Z"?

Could you send an actual photo of this part body marking?

The devices were shipped to TI sample office.

Part was mounted with correct orientation but no output voltage (suspect low current rating).

    Please help.

    Thanks.

  • Hi ikon,

It looks like you have preproduction units that do not have the correct top side marking. The most likely reason for not getting the correct output voltage is that the device is not oriented correctly. If you try changing the orientation of the device you should be able to resolve that issue.

I am working on getting the preproduction units replaced with current units that will have the correct topside marking to make this easier for you.

    Best Regards,
    Mark
