LM5001 EXTERNAL SYNCHRONIZAITON

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5001

I am having problem synchronizing a boost converter made with lm5001 similar to the circuit in figure 18 in the data sheet. the problem appear when the input voltage is below 16vdc. the output start dropping as the duty cycle is becoming limited. i am using a square pulse of 5vp-p 250Khz 50%. the cap used is 100pf. however, when increasing the cap value to 470pf the output stayed on down to 10v input.

1. is 250Khz square pulse 50% 5vp-p is acceptable to be used for synchronization?

2. Why increasing the cap value to more than 100pf improve and increase the max duty cycle which fix the problem

3. is this a solution to the problem or it could create other problems?
