Hello
I'm designing a portable device powered by two AAA NiMH batteries. I'm playing with TPS61221 to boost the battery voltage to 3,3V, which is the working voltage for my circuit. When I turn the TPS61221 off, by disabling it via the Enable pin, it stops switchinf but the power is still applied to the circuit, passing through the series inductor and the internal diode.
I would like to get some suggestions of circuits that can switch the batteries power completely off. I made a product some years ago using a SEPIC power supply, the series capacitor blocked the battery power and the circuit worked fine. Is this still the best topology for such circuits?
Thank you in advance for any ideas.
With best regards
