TPS65218: Power up problem

Part Number: TPS65218

Hello Team

My customer is using TPS65218.  Attached is their schematic.

Question: if the customer want to only go to default state(each output is the default set, how to set up the PWR_EN, PB and AC_DET?

 if no change and I2C write, the ouput will disable. How to go to active mode at the condition of the schematic set?

  • Hello Xiao,
    Just to clarify, is your customer experiencing issues with the default configuration?
    Please see flow-chart on page 47 of the datasheet:
    PWR_EN should be high ... correct (as long as the 3.3V is supplied by an external source.
    PB should be low ... but seems to be pulled high?
    AC_DET should be low ... correct
    nWAKEUP should be low ... but seems to be pulled high?

    Please double-check these configurations. I also assigned this thread to the product expert for further support.

    Best regards,
    Frank
  • Hello Xiao,

    I have double checked this and I believe your schematic is correct.

    PWR_EN = high
    AC_DET = low
    PB = high

    This will turn the device on with all of the default values as determined by their OTP as soon as power is connected. The only exception is DCDC3 & 4 which are programmed to 1.35V & 3.3V respectively using the 12.1kohms (so I am assuming this is using DDR3L memory).

    Thanks,
    Nick
