Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering TPS65381-Q1 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

When the IGN_PWRL of the normal operation register is set to 1 in the device,

if an abnormality occurs and transition to Stanby mode,

It will not return from Stanby mode unless the IGN terminal goes from Low to High.

Is it correct?

Also, the voltage to recognize that the IGN pin input, What voltage is Low and High?

Shinichi,

Yes, if in the standby mode the IGN must transition from low to high. The thresholds are between 2-3V with hysteresis.

Hi Shinichi,

Your understanding is correct and if there is any global standby condition is detected (datasheet Figure
5-16, Global STANDBY Conditions), device will go to standby mode even if IGN_PWRL is set to 1. Device will stay in stay in standby mode until high level on IGN pin or CANWU pin is detected.

IGN pin and CANWU pins have a wake-up threshold level from 2 V to 3 V. So, for detecting high, please apply more than 3V on this pin and for detecting low voltage, apply the voltage less than 2V.
