  • Hi Santos,

In order to power a device through Ethernet cable, we will need a PD device in front inside of the device you want to power on. Before PSE turns on the port, PSE and PD will need to finish the negotiation(detection, classification and inrush) and make sure they all meet IEEE standard. Do you know which PD IC is used in your devices?

I suggest you to buy a USB to GPIO adapter and download the PI commander  and follow the instructions in TPS23861EVM user guide to check why the port was not turned on. I believe the reason could be the negotiation was not successful and PSE rejected to power up(the default operating mode of TPS23861 is Auto mode and it can only turn on IEEE compliant PDs).
