TPS23754: Troubleshooting GAT2

Part Number: TPS23754

We use the SLVU304C 12V Output Evaluation module as the POE+ PD Controller circuit.

I did not realize the CM forgot to load Q1-SLVU304C (M2-TPS23754 datasheet) Si2325DS on the last batch of boards we assembled.   We I turned it on I realized something was  not right the board got hot and POE was disconnected in less than 30sec.   When I did get Q1-Si2325DS installed POE still did not work.   I think running it without Q1 damaged some other components.

My understanding is that Q1  is second gate drive (GAT2) output for the DC/DC converter so all the control was being done by GATE, the primary MOSFET driver.  Can you help me by describing what happened in the circuit and which components I should examine/change to fix the circuit?   If you can tell me the circuit voltages or resistances that I can measure to verify the possible damage of a good unit versus a damaged component, I would like to add that to my POE troubleshooting procedure.

Could this have damaged D1-BAS16 G-S diode?   Q1 is was not installed, so all of the transformer current flow was due to Q6-Si4848DY.    Could this have damaged Q6-  or the Bias Resistors R14-10 Ohm or R16-0.12 Ohm in the Primary DC/DC Converter MOSFET?  Is there any way that the actual TPS23754 IC itself was damaged?

Is there any way that other components on the secondary side were  damaged?
