The PD of 802.3 bt

Hi,

Here are some questions about 802.3 bt PD

1. As I know, the 802.3 bt is not announce yet, will the PD solutions like TPS237x meet the finial spec? Or TI have other solution for the finial 802.3 bt?

2. Nowaday I can see many PSE compliant 802.3 bt, can TPS237x work well with them?

3. What's the schesule of 802.3 bt? Is it almost done?

4. What spec in 802.3 bt is still discuss?

Thank you very much.

  • Hi Chentsu,
    1. Until the BT standard is ratified, the TPS237x BT devices will be considered IEEE802.3bt-ready so there is no guarantee until the standard is released. We are however, very confident that it will be compliant to the final standard when it is available because TI has been involved in the IEEE standard for .AF, .AT, and .BT. Please see below link.

    2. If the PSE is truly compliant to the BT standard then yes, the TPS237x BT PDs should be interoperable.
    3. Per the link above, it is currently set to publish this September.
    4. Per the link above, the committee is currently working on is the approval process.
