Inverting output current of PTN78020A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTN78020A

We are developing a speed controller for fans, from 7V to 12V, 0,3A per fan, up to 4 fans.

Source power is ATX PSU.

There is no power module with positive adjustable output voltage, supplied by 12V and that gives at least 1,5A. However, PTN78020A gives a range of -3 to -15V, 2.1A for Vout=-12V.

Since fans are isolated loads, is PTN78020A able to invert the current circuit, e.g., connecting GND of PTN78020A to V+ of fans and Vout of PTN78020A to GND of fans?

What do you think?

Thanks

  • PTN78020A will function  as stated However:

The only requirement is all of the other output components must be isolated and have the  same ground polarity  capaciitor and external control as does the fan function.
