True current out of LM3481 in boost up configuration

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA3110D2, LM3481, PMP9491

Hello,

I have been designing a portable bluetooth speaker with LM3481 boost converter and TPA3110D2 AMP in PBTL mode for max 20W mono speaker.

I mostly used the reference design in TI page<>

My power input is 12V, 2A and using 2 3.7V, 2600mAh li-ion battery in series.

When I finished my design and asked for a review to an engineer, he said the max current out for LM3481 was 1A, so 20W cant be reached and he was very certain.

I think it was the 3rd description in the feature list that shows 1A peak current.

but when I look at the reference portable speaker design in TI page, the description says the design supports up to 30W.

Also in the LM3481 datasheet, the example circuit in the boost up configuration, the Iout is 1.8A.

Does LM3481 really only support Iout of 1A or am I understanding something wrong?

Could anyone help please?
