bq51050b connection problem?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ500212A, BQ51050B

Hi ,

I have got the wireless charging system based to work  ( bq500212a Tx and bq51050b Rx). when the Rx was set for 650mA charging current i had no problem   regarding the start of charge, as soon as i bring the rx close to the Tx the charging would start. i recently changed the settings to 900 mA usinf R=110 and R2=220 ohms. right now  am havnig problem  getting the charging to start but once it starts everything is fine . if i move the Rx a little or remove it and put it back on the Tx  the charging doesnt restart  or sometimes it does after  some time. i wonder what coul be the reason behind this.  i have charged two batteries at 900 mA  and everything works well once the charging starts

Thanks

  • Hello Mahmoud,

Please provide me the following information in order to indentify the problem:

    1. Did you change anything else except of different RILIM resistors?

    2. What voltage did the batterys have when you conntected them to the receiver?

    3. What are the LEDs on the TX and RX EVM doing?

    4. Does the system work if you connect a source meter at the output and try to supply the 900mA?

    5. Could you provide scope shots of VRECT and OUT at startup and operation?

    Best Regards,

    Markus Fleck
