Inductive Chager station

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24075, BQ500215, BQ51025

Hello everyone ,

I am a belgian student in electronic's engnieering. For my intership , i'm in charge of the R§D of a tablet inductive charger station. Those tablet's would have to fit into these kind of chargin station . I was thinking of putting a reciever in each tablet and a transmitter in each section of the station .

I would like to know your opinions to know if this is possible ( range , maximum distance , interference ?)  and if so wich products would be the best .

Futhermore , i would like to know for a 3.7 lithium battery if i can charge simultaneously a stack of tablet in the same time in order to reduce the quantity of transmitter.

Thank you for your time , and i apologize for my english .

  • Hello,

What is the power level of your application? If it is 10W application, bq51025 + bq500215 might work for you. For the battery charger, the maximum current that can be delivered by a linear charger is 1.5A and I recommend bq24075. If you need more than that, you will have to use a switch mode charger.

    Thanks,

    Wenjia

  • Thank you for your answer .

My goal is to charge the most  stacked up tablets possible and to reduce the hasless of having to align them with the TX.

How much tablet (stacked) could i charge with one TX?

    Do i need bq24075 ? Can't I simply use bq500215 in each tablet ?

  • bq500215 + bq51025 can only provide the DC input and you will need a charger like bq24075 to convert the voltage to charging current.

    Thanks,
    Wenjia
  • Thank you , so if i want to order sample for the prototypes i should order TX bq500215 powered with 12V (DC) then transmit to bq51025 RX then direct plug with the bq24075 with i can directly connect to my Li-on 3.7V battery ? Do i need to buy something else to get all the voltage calibration right or i'm good with those 3 ?

And are the models shipped with some coils or i have to order it separetly ? If so what coil is it aprroppriate ?
