We are trying to understand the various conditions which will trigger an end-of-charging (nCHG high) on the BQ51050B. Schematics attached show the configuration of the BQ51050B and the microprocessor. The battery being charged is a Li-Ion 18650.
The below circuitry will sometime indicate nCHG(high) but only if the battery is drained sufficiently. If the battery is still near capacity, then the (trickle) charging takes a very long time or never completes. I have watched the nCHG line with a oscilloscope and do not see the line go high (after 16 hours).
The product is often replaced in the charging cradle, so that it is nearly always near capacity and so this problem urgently needs to be understood and fixed.
I would appreciate any comments or suggestions.
Thanks,
