Microwire header and triggers

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2492, USB2ANY, CODELOADER

I am attempting to try external triggering of the ramps using any of the potential triggers for the LMX2492

I notice that the trigger lines come back to the microwire header and into the USB2ANY module.  What is happening with these triggers there?

How do I use an external trigger source on the EVM - add something, remove chip Rs, what?

  • Hi Brian,

    I have the exact same question - any information would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi all,
    On the LMX2492 board, we have multiple trigger pins that go back to the microwire header. In the default configuration, this does nothing. However, you can control the trigger pins with the codeloader with the Bits/Pins in order to trigger our device to start a ramp. Note that the header is writing to these pins, not reading back. The way CodeLoader does this is to manually check the checkbox next to the pin name.

  • I would appreciate a little help setting up the codeloader page bits/pins to permit an rising edge external trigger on TRIG1 that initiates ideally a set of ramps.

    I have a two pin header soldered to the trig1 pin located near the microwire for the input connection.

    Several questions;

    Does one trigger on TRIG1 cause only one "Ramp Number" to start?

    How do the Trigger Source A/B/C inputs on the RAMP CALCULATOR get involved?

    When trying to get the external trigger working (so far no joy), should the Ramp Enable be set or does setting up TRIG1 functionality override?

    Settings and description of the OUTPUT PINS and PROGRAM PINS is not clear to me and some pulldown options don't seem to apply so I would appreciate a screen shot of the BITS and RAMP pages along with answers sent to my email showing exactly the conditions
