The tank voltage on the VCO can be set between 3.3V and 5V. A higher tank voltage allows more signal swing and will yield a higher phase noise performance; however, it will consume more current. The data in the datasheet was taken with 5V tank voltage to demonstrate best phase noise performance. --RJH
