HDC1080: Frost build effects on HDC1080 humidity / temp sensor

Hello,

Can you tell me how the HDC1080 responds when frost builds up on the device? Will it provide a humidity indication? 0%, 100%?
Our application canl be running at -10 deg. F and then when a door opens the chamber where the HDC1080 is located would / could be flooded with humid air causing frost to build on the device.
Will the HDC1080 see the increase in humidity or will it have an error?

I did not find any information on the data sheet concerning frost unless that is considered condensation with the HDC1080.

Hello Len

HDC1080 humidity output drop to 0%RH in presence of condensation on the sensing element (same for frost).
It's possible to detect the condensation/frost when the humidity output sharply drop from values close to 100%RH to 0%RH.

Please note that the drop to 0%RH happens in case the condensation/frost happens at the surface of the sensing element, otherwise the HDC1080 works normally measuring the ambient relative humidity close to the sensing element.
