What does a variation of the Response Time (LDC Configuration Parameter) Change?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LDC1101

Hello,

the data sheet describes the Response Time Setting as a Setting for a digital filter. Can you please describe what Kind of digital filter this is?

Is it just a change of number of internal samples which are taken for averiging?

Thanks,

Frank

  • Hello Frank,

With the LDC1000/LDC1101, for a RP measurement, you can view the response time as the number of internal samples used for averaging. For the L measurement, it will correspond to the number of sensor cycles for one measurement.

  • Hello,

    thanks for your Response, Chris.

We sense a measurand with high dynamic components, our sensor frequency is running with about 1 MHz, the external LDC clock is 8 MHz.

Does this mean each LC tank Signal period (fsensor=1MHz) is sampled 8 times (with external clock 8MHz), and this is done x times set with the Response time Setting (192 times to 6144 times) ?

Taking this into consideration would bring me to the conclusion to use a Response time Setting with Minimum value (=192). That would give me an output data rate of about 10 kHz.

    Correct?

    Thanks, Frank
